to our website and to our Pre-School & Playgroup

Where it all began...

Situated on School Lane, Brereton, the playgroup was founded in 1980 by a group of mums who held a meeting in the local school hall to discuss the lack of facilities within the village for pre-school children. From that meeting a committee was formed and Brereton Mother and Toddler Group was born.

Over the next three years, the committee and its members, along with the valued support of local residents and a local benefactor, organised many fundraising events to enable us to acquire premises. We were incredibly lucky to have an abundance of talent within the community with many volunteers offering to help us carry out the renovations.

On 6th September 1983, Brereton Pre-School proudly opened its doors to the children of Brereton and surrounding towns and villages for the first time.

For over 30 years, we have remained a fundamental and integral part of the community and the foundation for children aged two through to school age. We hope to continue for another 30 years.
